LCMSMS Workshop

Welcome Message

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to thank all of the participants of the 11th Annual Workshop on LC/MS/MS Applications in Environmental Analysis and Food Safety which was held at the Canada Centre for Inland Waters, in Burlington, Ontario, Canada (http://www.ec.gc.ca/inre-nwri/) on September 21-22, 2015.

The theme for this year's workshop was "Focus on the Future". In addition to inviting distinguished speakers, we wanted to highlight a number of up and coming talents in the field. To this effect, we organized a session titled "LC/MS/MS Scientists: The Next Generation", subtitled "From Spock to Data". This session featured talented scientists under the age of 40 presenting their latest results on LC/MS/MS techniques and applications. As always, student participation was highly encouraged. The intimate workshop environment was an ideal venue for students to present their work, receive feedback on it, and vie for one of the two available 'Top Presentation' awards.

Next year, the workshop is being hosted by Dr. Damia Barcelo of IDAEA-CSIC in Barcelona, Spain. In 2016, it will return to North America being hosted by Dr. Diana Aga at the University of Buffalo. We will be posting links to these workshop as soon as they are available.

We look forward to seeing you in the future.

Mehran Alaee
Workshop Chair
